A much belated review.I read this a few months ago and have been putting off my review Not any This is the second bind up the second half of the second book and the complete third book in The Secret Circle series by L J Smith This volume concludes the original series that she wrote in the 90s Yes, there are a couple books that pick up where the original trilogy left off, but those were written years later by ghost writers after Harper decided to fire Smith from moving forward with the story Not [...]

Overall I liked it, but I found it hard to like any of the characters aside from Nick He was the only one that held my interest from beginning to end I did manage to warm up to Diana and a few other characters, but Cassie bugged me ever since book one and continued to bug me throughout The Captive, Part 2 She managed to redeem herself in The Power since she wasnt running around acting all secretive and lying to everybody any I was upset over how the love story played out and the ending proved to [...]

REVIEW I really like the Secret Circle I read the first book a year or two ago, and had to re read it recently since the show on The CW has really messed up the actual story in my head Let me just say, unlike Smith s other series The Vampire Diaries, where the show is way better than the books I actually prefer the Secret Circle novels to the show. There is something about the books that I really enjoy but I can t really put my finger on it I really love stories about witches, the kind that use t [...]

Everyone I knew was talking about this book series and how great it was, it was all over the internet and there were a lot of positive reviews written about it in the local library so I wondered what the big fuss was and picked them up And now I am hooked.Once I started reading the first one I couldn t put that one down and read through the night finishing at 5 am But it was worth it.So then I couldn t wait to read the second one and picked it up as soon as I can I have to say that L.J Smith tie [...]

Continuing the story that started with The Initiation and part 1 of the The Captive, Cassie Blake becomes firmly entrenched in the coven She has friends at last she s a part of the group, yet, lies, deceptions, and jealousy may rip the group apart as evil invades New Salem Will the group survive Will the group manage to come together to fight an old enemy Part paranormal, part romance, this YA novel deals with the cliff hanger from the first and resolves it satisfactorily huronreader

This series has been alright Interesting enough to keep me reading, but it has annoying bits enough to not make me fangirl or anything Cassie is continually doubting herself instead of accepting her power really irks me that she has such potential but is always a weak character.

Sally Waltman This one had every guy at Homecoming dance following her around with his tongue hanging out Including my boyfriend and look where it got him She looks ordinary at first, maybe, but there are all sorts of colors in her hair it changes depending on the light I m serious And I m sure it s just an act, but she s the kind that looks all fragile and sweet, the kind guys are just dying to take care of and then she starts ordering them around And she gets away with it, probably because she [...]

OK, I m going to keep this review short because I read this book too far away from the previous books so really didn t feel as hooked with these two books in the series as I did the previous books So I m going to reread the entire series again at some point in the next two years just to give it a fair shot I also think I may be getting a bit old for these real YA teen books as the characters were just a little annoying I could not remember a thing about the previous books in the series other tha [...]

This one includes part 2 of the second book and the third book in what was originally a trilogy before the publisher took the series away from L.J Smith and is now written by a group of ghost writers.Anyway, there is a power struggle in the Circle between Cassie, Faye, and Diana The latter two are polar opposites, while Cassie is supposed to represent a balance.Diana is such a goody goody while Faye is a complete badass that she even gives up her boyfriend of 3 years, Adam, to Cassie without muc [...]

When the first book left me wanting I was glad to see that this one was as fastpassed and interesting The story is beautiful and with a lot of action I would like a little bit witch fights, calling on the elements and stuff, a little bit active magic and not so much of herbs and crystals The ending was good but not so much fulfilling, it didn t left me wanting or being extremely full, it just left meA good read for anyone, and I can t wait for the tv series this fall

Much better than the first two books, but still not as great as other LJ Smith books I feel like we were constantly told that Cassie was suddenly brave and outspoken after the first but ok but we never really saw that in action until the end The end confrontation was extremely rushed but I actually didn t mind that The romance was bland but I kind of expect that in teen witch books I wish time had been spent flushing out the other Circle members like Suzan and Deborah who were far interesting. These books are not without their flaws, I ll be the first to admit that Cassie is a complete Mary Sue, and Diana is not even remotely believable as a high school student, to say nothing of the rest of the characters That said, these books, along with the first four Vampire Diaries books, played a profound role in my early adolescence I related to Cassie as a shy, awkward young teen, and her growth from a shy little mouse to a leader honestly helped me to grow confident, too, and I longed for a [...]

I liked The Initiation, the first story in The Secret Circle trilogy written by LJ Smith the other books in the series are written by another author but The Captive and The Power just didn t work for me I thought the romance was weak for LJ Smith and I should know better to try a witch story since I never seem to care for them I had to try it though since, well, it s LJ Smith.
