A dramatic ending with a number of unexpected twists The stand out character in this book is Daniel who, as the Crown Prince and a secret believer, comes under increasing pressure from his family as do Anne and Trask and their relatives The world heats up for those who do not follow the official state religion Fans of the series will enjoy the way a number of romantic threads are resolved The first half is quite slow paced, but the second half picks up a lot Jace and Kyrin are still present in t [...]

Oh, my heart.Ilyon keeps getting better and better Which also means situations keep getting worse and worse for the poor characters What pain What sorrow What joy What love My sister once called it the emotional equivalent of Expedition Everest at Disney World, and while I ve never ridden it I hate roller coasters, I refuse , I have to agree This book is an emotional roller coaster And it is so, so good.Typically, when I read a book with multiple storylines, I primarily care about one of them Th [...]

I ll have a better review on the release date, but for now, just know this it is fantastic Edit the better review as promised This book is amazing I think it is my favorite of the entire series so far It has a lot of the same elements that made me fall in love with the Ilyon Chronicles in the first book Resistance and many of the characters from that book make a reappearance in this book after not having as big a part in books 2 3 The Resistance in Landale plays a big role once again in this boo [...]

Since this book promised of Prince Daniel s story I ll be brutally honest I wasn t terribly excited Daniel was never a favorite character, and I didn t care too much about what happened to him But Jaye masterfully wove Daniel s tale within streaks from our other favorite characters, and I soon found myself loving him just as much There was a lot in this book that made me have to step back and breathe for a long minute, thinking I SO did not see that coming Especially the ending EEEKKKKKK Someth [...]

I had the privilege of reading this book before it s release Of all the books I ve read by Jaye, I think this is one of my favorites All the turmoil in the characters, the uncertainty, and getting out of their comfort zones It was all so deep and true to real life I learned a few things from the book even though it s fantasy AND fiction I highly encourage you to read this book, and the whole series.

THIS BOOK THOUGH I m super late to the party because everyone s already read this but better late than never, right I REALLY LIKED THIS ONE I loved the broad, expansive feel the POV shifts gave the storyline What started out as a small rebellion in Resistance is beginning to turn into a full scale war, and we definitely get that feel in Exiles The author brought a lot of political maneuvering into this book, so than in previous Illyon books I loved the settings each one was unique and interesti [...]

CharactersJaye s characters are both her strength, and her weakness She s building on a foundation of fabulous characters that she set up in the Resistance And building And building She must have added eight new characters in this novel most of them necessary for a brief moment, but none of them necessarily needing to be involved as much as they were, which left the novel feeling cluttered I loved the characters I knew their stories were remarkable I wanted to follow along and see where they wen [...]

Another amazing book This series has been soo much fun to read I really don t think there s much to criticize As usual, Jace was my favorite He s just such an awesome character I think what really drew me to him was his believability I haven t seen many characters that are so real Dragons What is a fantasy without them I adore dragons and love to read books with them in it So that was an added bonus. The plot is really good and I was not expecting view spoiler Daican to die and Davira to take the [...]

I really liked this book Exiles You know it s good if it s the fourth book in the series and you have to have it immediately after it s publication There were a lot of couples coming together in this book A bunch of people I knew were going to get together started moving closer to getting married I mean, the first chapter is a wedding, after all Then there was the rest of the book Another thing you learn right off is that the evil Emperor s son became a follower of Elom, the Christian God for th [...]

This fourth addition to the Ilyon Chronicles was AMAZING Usually, one would expect a new sequel to be lesser than the first or second or third , but that is not the case with this novel In my humble opinion, Exiles was great if not better than the first three Ms Knight s writing is in her own voice relate able and accurate in emotions and actions Her characters have such depth in their individual personalities and backgrounds, even the minor characters With some you want to read of their story [...]

Huh That was not quite what I expected Not in a bad way bad books don t keep me up until 11 30 at night because I keep saying just one chapter but yeah Another reviewer says that Exiles feels a lot like Resistance, and I tend to agree It s also a lot slower paced than most of the books I ve been reading lately, which well, it isn t a bad thing, but it did mean that the stakes felt lower than in previous books in the series, even though there were battles and lives in danger and whatnot There w [...]

Exiles was another work of art by Jaye L Knight I can t tell you how much I ve missed my fictional friends The story was for the most part engaging and exciting I love reading about Prince Daniel and Lady Anne And I have to say it, Lady Anne and Trask are just adorable in this book 3 I was worried that the romance between certain characters would get too sappy for my tastes, but Jaye handled it very nicely However, a year has passed since Samara s Peril, and there s a time lapse where it feels [...]
