Don t give me that look I know what you re all thinking Yes, I know it s an adaptation Yes, I know on a list of top ten things guaranteed to cause pain, a book based on the movie is situated right above colonoscopy Yes, I m as shocked as you that I even read this book Want to hear something even life altering I completely enjoyed it The plot captivates you from the first page Taking two of horrors most legendary creatures and pitting them against each other, Underworld grabs an old idea and add [...]

Okay, I promise to give a review for Underworld so here it goes This book is just like the movie Everything from what they said to what they did I was interested in this book because I saw the movie Underworld Awakening, thought it be fantastic to read all the books I love the Book I couldn t believe how much chemistry there was between Selene and Michael The characters felt so real and they didn t feel forced upon each other The author did a great job on each character given pieces of history a [...]

I ve never read such a high vocabulary in a contemporary novel that actually didn t come across as pretentious Loved it for that reason alone.

I am biased, the movie of this novelization is one of my favourite films of all time, so it s hard to make this disappointing if you stick to the story This was than I expected, it was amazing. While reading this I remembered my obsession with this movie so vividly, which happened in early 2014 I loved it back then, I remember walking through my neighbourhood and thinking about nothing but Underworld Later I realized that this would be one of the main works about vampires that would shape me int [...]

This is a solid novelization with little interesting tidbits I didn t know simply from watching the movie I can either like or really dislike a novelization I guess it depends on the film that the novelization is typically based on Yet I feel I will enjoy Rise of the Lycans a lot But it was, like I said, a solid read.

I had read this years ago but I remember it quite well This book made me want to watch the movie later it was banned in the cinema of my country, figures The first movie is fascinating with its casts and the body bending and twists but the book is a stand alone book that could stand on its own In the movie, Selene was a silent huntress who preys lycan for centuries She was in an elite group of vampires called Death Dealers who stalks Lycans to near extinction She was a woman with fewer words and [...]

I began with low expectations This is after all a novelisation of the popular movie Yet, I was pleasantly surprised Nothing earth shattering, but solid none the less Sound writing, but Greg Cox is clearly obsessed with adjectives His nouns would feel lonely if not accompanied by adjectives The story unfolds at a frenetic pace, but my biggest complaint is the rapid switching of scenes and POV s every three pages or so This is so disruptive and impedes the flow of the book In one case, we literall [...]

2015 BOOK CHALLENGE non human charactersthis one felt a bit like cheating since its a novelization of a film, but YOLO as a result i wasn t expecting much from the writing and i got what i paid for with that one still, it was better than i was expecting, and it was fun to get some detailed filled in where the movie left it open i wasn t a huge fan of the way michael and selene felt a draw to each other for literally no reason but the action and, as i said, the added detail made up for it the wri [...]

I thought that a book based off a movie was the most ridiculous thing ever, but the book was actually very enjoyable It stayed very true to the movie Only one thing really bothered me I did not in any way imagine Michael to be how he was In the movies, he was quiet and guarded and thoughtful In this book, he was always referencing movies and thinking like a teenager He annoyed me, sad because he is my favourite character in the movie Only for this reason, I gave the book 4 stars instead of five [...]

I have a great fondness for novelizations of movies, especially movies I enjoy because I love learning about the world and characters that you come to like, love and hate Underworld worked so well the characters thank god the none sparkling Vampire kind have a great originality to them all are human in their shades of good and evil Selene is a great female character in general, bold, strong and confident unlike a certain female character from another film book combination Her attraction and eve [...]

This book was just as amazing as the movie I LOVED IT I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the book I figured it would be exactly like the movie, and it was, but so much too The characters really flourished in the book, revealing personalities and nuances that I missed while watching the movie I was surprised at how much of a expanded role Ericka played, but it was important none the less Also reading from Lucian, Raze, Michael, Kraven, Kahn, Singe, Soren and of course Selene s point of view m [...]

This may be an adaption of the Underworld series first film, but it was an enjoyable adaption You can read it as an accompaniment to the film or as a stand alone novel, either way it still works There s a couple of minor additions that Cox has added for reasons unknown to me i.e lycan women and children which were absent from the film , and there is the occasional swear word.I thoroughly enjoyed as I have been a fan of the Underworld films since I was taken to see it with my father in 2003 And I [...]

This book is a movie to book adaptation Usually its the other way around and I don t read books adapted from a movie But Underworld just gripped me The movie was really good and Selene is such a great character that you completely get engrossed For me the movies weren t enough which is why I started reading the books The books don t have a specific person s pov it rather narrates from all the characters perspective This book contains some serious heavy vocabulary But it isn t misplaced You can t [...]

A startlingly good novelization of a film I was intrigued by the premise from the start even at a young age Werewolves vs vampires My kind of a good time I first read this when I about 12 years old I was not old enough to watch the movie at the time I was already starting to venture into adult books and really enjoyed this Hell, I enjoyed this a little bit then the movie in fact It gives perspective to various characters such Michael and Kraven in the movie it is almost strictly Selene s poin [...]

In a word, uninspiring I was 3 4 through the book before I realized that it wasn t going to get any better, so I d better just finish reading it and to be done with it Maybe it s because the book is a novelization of a movie that the characters were not developed To me the book was wordy in order to fill pages, but not to make the story better It didn t offer anything that would make the reader care about the characters Lucian was a secondary character, but was interesting then the primaries I [...]

I m a really big fan of the Underworld series in general, so perhaps my review is a tad bit biased I normally do not enjoy novelizations of films For the most part, they feel really bland and offer nothing to the characters or the stories from the films But this book was a pleasant surprise. The writer offered much insight to the characters and their thoughts, as novelizations should I really enjoy the chemistry between Michael and Selene, so the fact that the attraction and the development of i [...]

The first book of the trilogy tells the middle part of the story a story about a centuries old war between vampire warriors called Death Dealers and a race of werewolves called Lycans It focuses on Selene, a Death Dealer and her growing attraction for Michael, an American who is newly infected with the Lycan curseThe novel is an extremely good read, a novelization of the movie by the same name The book is better than the movie, in that it gives the reader a much in depth feel of the characters [...]

I read it since I watch underworld awakening and wondered about the other 3 I must say, this is a must read if you like the movie, there is a lot explaination about what is going on and what each character is thinking and feel while in the movie they are just doing things wordlessly it makes it so much better.I haven t read much vampire or female lead novel lately, since i couldn t find one that draw me in I wish there is badass vampire lead novel around, character like selene I definitely lov [...]

I am pleasantly surprised by the writing of the Underworld I read all three books after I watched I am number four, I guess curious to find about the story and it was pain to read Writing was bad, so many things changed through the books that it was ridiculous But this is great I have no complaints so far It feels like that I can follow the movie while reading and it feels natural, like the book was written before the movie and you are not sure what is better Great job

I found it a bit hard going getting in to this nove It just didn t take off for me with the right pace or maintain a fixating influence on me I was thinking maybe a 2 or 3 star novel.By about halfway through, I was definitely getting there and ended up with 4 stars.I liked the descriptive language and use of adjectives, I liked the settings, and the heroine didn t annoy me Well fancy that

I had read that this was a film novelization worth reading, but i could barely finish it I ended up just skimming most of it I really enjoyed the movie, so the book seemed appealing I m not sure if I ve outgrown film novelizations or if my expectations were too high, but this one fell very flat for me I d give it 1.5 stars.

pretty good a little slow though sounds weird since its about vampires and werewolves and shoot outs etc but sometimes it just is, its slow and you feel ready to be finished with it but not too bad a B or C rating makes me want to watch the film though which i havnt yet, and btw fyi the film came first and prob will read the sequel since my bro already bought it
