Again, I ve run out of new science fiction so I decided to try one of my wife s favourite detective thriller authors This is the first book in the James Roy Grace series and it is brilliant The plot twists the characters are well drawn and plausible, the police procedural stuff seems very well observed and his knowledge of Brighton and its surroundings gives the novel atmosphere and a real sense of place The only very slight criticism is the occasional American ism e.g flashlight grates a bit bu [...]

DEAD SIMPLE by Peter James was a gripping and intense story about a prank between friends gone all wrong. There were many things I liked about this story First was the opening where Michael Harrison is entombed in a coffin and buried in the ground by his friends during a bachelor party His friends are killed and no one knows about the prank That alone made me shudder and worried about Michael Add on top the details James adds making Michael s situation worse, well I was flipping pages to find out [...]
